Dumbed Down Depression

“When someone tells you something defies description, you can be pretty sure he’s going to have a go at it anyway.” – Clyde Aster

I think of this every time someone says, “I don’t really know a lot about economics, but it seems to me….” You’ll notice I haven’t commented much on the economic downturn. Fortunately, some people who actually know what is happening have commented. And he has commented in a way that makes sense to all of us. Like Dr. Saxon explaining Platonic forms to Cowboy Dave, it’s beautiful and beneficial to all of us.

  1. I took Philosophy with Dr. Saxon at the same time as Cowboy Dave.

Some may deem this an unfortunate scheduling of classes. I thought so as well, but now not so much. The stories and ability to laugh knowingly at lines like that have made it more than worth it.

  2. No Justin. You should vehemently express your opinion about the economy whether you know anything about it or not. Have you learned nothing from me?

I only viewed the Dr. Saxon/Cowboy Dave altercations in Baptist Heritage, but I did have Dr. Saxon and Geo Pine in Philosophy. I think that counts for something.

  3. like supressed memories, they keep flooding back . . . I had Cowboy Dave, Noah Frost, and Frank all in Joshua and Judges with Saxon. Oh man. Fun fun fun.
